Effective 1 October 2026
Name, email address, organization (optional), and account/license metadata (license type, status, expiry). Content you create across QOSE's apps — simulation missions, Lab scripts, CAD models, Echo recordings, and Bridge messages — is associated with your account but not reviewed by Qontra staff except when you request support. We also collect a small weekly usage summary, described in section 3.
Your password — Qontra never stores or has access to your actual password, only a one-way cryptographic hash created by our authentication provider (Supabase). We cannot see or recover it, only help you reset it.
We also do not collect, through usage summaries or otherwise, what you do inside the apps: not the code you write in Lab, not your satellite names, TLEs or mission data, not your CAD models or Echo recordings, not your keystrokes, mouse movements or screen contents, and not a timeline of what you clicked and when.
We look at how QOSE is used, never at what you do with it.
What we see (weekly totals only): hours you were actively using QOSE, in total and per app; days active that week; which features you used at least once; times you reached a free-tier limit; Relay sessions hosted; error counts; app version; date last active.
What we never see: anything you create or load, including code, satellite names, TLEs, missions, CAD models, recordings and messages; your keystrokes, mouse or screen; a timeline of what you clicked.
How it works: QOSE measures this on your own device and sends us only the weekly totals. “Active” counts only while a QOSE tab is visible and you are interacting with it.
Who sees it: only Qontra. Not other users, and not the administrator of an organization you belong to. If that ever changes, we will tell you before it does.
If you would rather not be included, email contact@qontra.uk and we will stop collecting your summaries.
QOSE stores a local copy of your active mission in your browser for convenience (auto-restoring your fleet between visits on the same device). QOSE also keeps your running usage counters in your browser until they are summarised and sent as described above. This data stays on your device until then and is not transmitted to any third party.
If you choose to use Cloud Sync, your mission data is sent only to the storage location (bucket/URL) you personally configure and control. Qontra does not operate, access, or store that data.
Relay live sessions and Bridge messages are stored in our database so they can be delivered to the people you choose to share them with. Relay access is controlled by the host, who approves each observer.
We use account data to provide your account and license. We use usage summaries to understand which parts of QOSE are useful, to find and fix problems, to plan improvements, and to keep the service secure. Where UK data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving QOSE for usage summaries, and on providing the service you signed up for for account data. You can object to usage summaries at any time by contacting us, and we will stop collecting yours.
If your access to QOSE comes through an organization license, your account details (name, email, membership status) are visible to that organization's administrators so they can manage seats. Usage summaries for members of an organization are collected and handled the same way as for individuals, and are seen by Qontra only.
We use Supabase (authentication and database) and Resend (transactional email) to operate QOSE. These providers process data solely to deliver those services and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments. Our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the UK; where that happens we rely on our providers' own transfer safeguards.
Account data and usage summaries are retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account data and your usage summaries are deleted with it. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting contact@qontra.uk.
You may ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or provide it in a portable format, and you may object to our use of it. Contact contact@qontra.uk and we will respond. If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Qontra does not sell customer data to third parties.
We may update this policy as QOSE grows. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will tell users about material changes before they take effect.
